About Jonas Törnquist
Jonas Törnquist is Chief Operating Officer of the European Power Exchange EPEX SPOT. EPEX SPOT runs continuous 24/7 power markets and Day-Ahead power auctions throughout Europe. Appointed as COO in 2016, Jonas is responsible for leading the Exchange’s operations and for shaping the commercial services provided to its customers. Jonas is an international leader of organisations with diverse cultures and varied locations in Europe and 'Australasia'. His experience englobes a unique combination of strategy design and operational implementation, within both financial and energy markets and their intersections. Jonas’ previous roles span from board mandates to operational and strategy positions along many parts of the energy value chain. This includes exchanges, industrial utilities, trading desks, technology and research companies and governmental institutions. Jonas has completed a Corporate Finance Program at the London Business School, he furthermore holds an MBA in Finance and Economics from Victoria University in New Zealand and an MSc in Materials Physics from Uppsala University in Sweden.
In his free time, Jonas enjoys travelling the world, spending time with his family and using his positive and curious personality to learn new things and challenge himself.
