GOPACS - The platform to solve congestion in the electricity grid
GOPACS (grid operator platform for congestion solutions) is an important step to reduce capacity shortages in the electricity grid (congestion) and helps to keep the grid reliable and affordable. GOPACS is a unique initiative in Europe and originated from an active collaboration between the Dutch grid operators. Sabine Dujardin Papo, board member of GOPACS, tells about the origin of GOPACS, what we have achieved so far and what plans there are for the future.
About Sabine Dujardin-Papo
Sabine Dujardin Papo has been Market Manager at Stedin (a Dutch grid operator) since 2018. In this position she is responsible for the Market department and thus for the cooperation between grid operators and market parties in order to provide the joint end customer with the best possible service. Previously, Sabine worked in various management positions for Pon Power and Essent. In addition to her work at Stedin, Sabine is a board member of the GOPACS foundation. Within GOPACS she is committed to the development, construction and operation of the platform, marketing and connection with other energy trading platforms. Sabine is also a board member of the FAN that organizes the Flexcon. In addition to her work, Sabine is active as a role model for VHTO. The mission of this expertise center is to increase the participation of girls and women in science, technology and ICT.
